Woods full of monkeys roaming freely: that sums up Apenheul! Over half of the primates roam around between the trees, mingling with the visitors. The handy observation tips posted round the park mean you won’t have to miss a thing. Not all of the primates are allowed to roam freely: the gorillas and the orangutans are kept on islands. You can find out all about them by attending the special presentations in the park. The Apenboompad (tree-top walk) has been renovated recently.

You walk around this ‘rain forest’ between the tree tops and the monkeys. Had enough of monkey-spotting? Come and enjoy climbing like a monkey in the Na-aaphuis (copycat house) or enjoy some delicious, organic fries while gazing at the gorilla island.
