Café de Zon is one of the oldest cafés on the north side of the river Waal. In 1912 this complex was a café with livery stable. Directly opposite Café de Zon lies the Veerdam, until the opening of the Waal bridge in 1936, the Zeldenrust Vulture Ferry made the crossing to Nijmegen. The barn of Café de Zon, at that time, served as a transit barn. For generations, the café has been run by the Jacobs family. Nowadays the responsibility lies with one of the family’s grandnephews.

At café de Zon you can enjoy a delicious lunch with a nice cup of coffee. Or stop by for a drink and taste one of our 25 special beers! Something to celebrate? Then you can come to us as well. This old brown pub with a beautiful view of Nijmegen is a unique location for your party, reception or meeting.

You can also combine your visit with a sporting activity. Want to go for a ride on an electric scorer and have a nice lunch afterwards? A day full of teambuilding games for your staff and closing with a drink? Or just a nice piece of cycling? In cooperation with our partners we can organize a fun activity for every occasion.

See you soon in de Zon!
