Doorwerth Castle (Kasteel Doorwerth) is a great medieval castle that still reflects what life would have been like on a country estate in days gone by. The furnished rooms allow you to literally smell, see and hear its history. The ‘kasteel in bedrijf’ theme (working castle) combines history, forestry and hunting. Special exhibitions are alternated with paintings from the Oosterbeek School. For children, there’s a fun and educational treasure hunt through the castle. The castle shop sells delicious local produce, books, postcards, souvenirs … something for everyone! You can also enjoy a snack and a drink at the castle café De Zalmen.
VVV Tourist Office
There is a VVV Tourist Office at this location. The staff are locals who are happy to inform you of what there is to see, do and experience, and to help you discover the special spots in the area. Cycle routes and walks are available at the VVV Tourist Office, as well as maps, brochures and leaflets from attractions, and naturally the VVV gift voucher!
